Shweta Tiwari is an Indian film and television actress who was born in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh on 4 October, 1980.
She gained popularity for her role of Prerna in the television series Kasauti Zindagi Ki that was aired on Indian television channel Star Plus. She is also the winner of the popular reality show Big Boss, Season 4.
Career
She began her acting career after being noticed by a popular director while playing the role of Bahu V on stage. She started her acting career in 1999 with Kaleerien. Apart from her popular television show Kasauti Zindagi Ki, she has done several advertisements, dance shows, plays and cameos in other television serials.
She is active in Bollywood and Bhojpuri film industry and has played supportive roles in movies like Madhoshi (2004), Abrakadabra and Benny and Babloo (2010). She has also done a Bhojpuri film with her ex-husband Raja Chaudhary which was a big hit called, Hamar Sayian Hindustani.
She has also started her production company which is into producing Bhojpuri films and television shows.
She appeared as a judge in 2010, in the Bhojpuri reality dance show, Dance Sargam.
Shweta won the prime time reality show, Big Boss 4, on January 8, 2011. She went on to become the winner by defeating he co-contestants like Ashmit Patel, The Great Khali and Dolly Bindra in the finals. She thus went on to become the first female contestant to win the reality show. She won a prize money of 1 crore.
Personal Life
Shweta Tiwari was born in Mumbai and is the daughter of Nirmala and Ashok Tiwari. She was raied in the city of dreams and went to the St. Isabel Girls School there. She completed her bachelor’s degree from Burhani College, Mazgaon, Mumbai. She also has a younger brother Nidaan.
At the tender age of 18 years she married actor Raja Chaudhary in 1998. They got divorced after nine years of marriage and have a daughter named Palak.
She is currently dating her boyfriend Abhinav Kohli.
